Human Remains in Wendell Camper

A quiet Monday morning in Wendell turned unsettling after authorities discovered human remains inside a camper on Industrial Drive.

According to the Wendell Police Department, officers were called to the scene early in the day after receiving a report of a suspicious situation involving a camper parked near local businesses. When they arrived, investigators confirmed that human remains were found inside.

Detectives have not yet released the identity of the individual or details about how long the camper had been at the location. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is assisting local police as they work to determine the cause of death and piece together what happened.

Police say the investigation is ongoing, and additional information will be released once the remains are identified and family members are notified. Anyone with knowledge about the incident is encouraged to contact Wendell Police.
