It’s All About North Carolina
🎸 Tedeschi Trucks Band Lights Up Raleigh: Two Nights of Soul, Sweat, and Slide Guitar Glory! 🎸
Buckle up, music lovers—Tedeschi Trucks Band is storming Red Hat Amphitheater in downtown Raleigh for a two-night blowout on November 7 & 8, 2025, and if you’ve got a pulse and a playlist, this is your post-election soul-cleansing, foot-stomping, goosebump-inducing weekend. The Grammy-winning, 12-piece (yes, twelve—sometimes more!) Southern jam juggernaut brings their signature blend of blues, rock, gospel, and swampy funk to the Triangle, turning the open-air venue into a 6,000-person revival tent where the music doesn’t just play—it preaches.
Picture this: Susan Tedeschi, voice like honey-dipped lightning, trading blistering guitar solos with Derek Trucks, the slide-guitar wizard who plays like he’s channeling Duane Allman from the afterlife. Behind them? A full-on freight train of talent: two drummers locking into a heartbeat groove, a three-piece horn section punching like a New Orleans second line, keys swirling like church organs, and backup singers who could raise the dead. Every show is a 2.5+ hour journey—no setlist repeats, no two nights the same. One minute you’re swaying to the slow-burn ache of “Midnight in Harlem,” the next you’re air-guitaring through a 15-minute “Bound for Glory” jam that melts faces and time itself.
This ain’t just a concert; it’s a Southern roots celebration on steroids. Born from the ashes of the Derek Trucks Band and Susan’s solo fire, TTB carries the torch of the Allman Brothers, Delaney & Bonnie, and Muscle Shoals into 2025 with zero nostalgia crutches—just pure, present, alive music. Expect deep cuts, surprise covers (think Aretha, Dylan, or a random Nina Simone tearjerker), and that magical moment when the band locks eyes, nods, and launches into an improvised crescendo that leaves 6,000 strangers hugging like old friends.
And the openers? Rumor has it Blues Traveler (yes, that harmonica howl from your ‘90s mixtape) might pop up nearby—perfect pre-game for a night of harmonica-meets-horns harmony. Red Hat’s intimate lawn-and-seats setup means even nosebleeds feel front-row, with Raleigh’s skyline twinkling behind the stage and food trucks slinging BBQ, tacos, and craft brews to fuel your dance moves.
Why go?
Two completely different shows—Night 1 might lean bluesy and brooding; Night 2 could explode into funk-fueled chaos.
Post-election therapy—whether you’re celebrating, commiserating, or just ready to feel something real, TTB delivers catharsis in 12-part harmony.
Raleigh in November—crisp air, no humidity, and a downtown buzzing with pre-holiday energy.
Tickets & Pro Tips:
Start at ~$60 (lawn) to $150+ (VIP pit)—grab early via Ticketmaster; these sell out fast.
Gates ~6:30 PM, show ~7:30 PM—arrive by 6 to snag a spot on the lawn with a blanket and a cooler (low-back chairs only).
Parking hack: Use the city decks ($7–10) or ride-share—traffic’s a beast post-show.
Weather prep: 50s at night—layer up, but the music will keep you warm.
Merch alert: Snag a tour poster or that buttery-soft TTB tee—they’re collector gold.
Whether you’re a lifelong jam-band pilgrim, a blues convert, or just need to shake off 2025’s chaos with a guitar solo that hits like a freight train, Tedeschi Trucks Band at Red Hat, Nov 7–8, is the live music pinnacle of the fall. Bring your crew, lose your voice, and let 12 souls from Jacksonville remind you why live music still reigns supreme. 🎤🔥
See you in the glow of the slide—don’t sleep on this one, Raleigh!

Wake County Unveils New Enrollment Plan to Ease School Crowding
The Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) has released its proposed 2026-27 Enrollment Plan, aimed at reducing overcrowding and preparing for future growth across the district.
Rapid population increases have pushed many schools beyond capacity, forcing the use of trailers and multi-track calendars. The new plan adjusts base school assignments, calendar options, and transportation routes to better balance enrollment.
Key changes include:
Opening new schools, such as Hilltop Needmore Elementary in Fuquay-Varina.
Reassigning some students from overcrowded schools to nearby campuses.
Offering “stability transfers” so families can remain at current schools without bus service.
Providing community feedback sessions before final approval.
Only a small percentage of students are expected to be reassigned. Families can use the WCPSS online lookup tool to see if their address is affected.
The school board vote is scheduled for November 18, 2025. If approved, the plan will take effect for the 2026-27 school year, marking a key step toward long-term capacity relief and more equitable access across Wake County schools.

Spreading Love, One Hug at a Time
In the heart of Brooklyn, 32-year-old Jose Cruz turned his own struggles with anxiety and isolation into a mission of hope and human connection. What began as a personal coping mechanism has blossomed into the “World Needs Love Tour,” a simple yet powerful initiative that reminds people they are seen, valued, and not alone.
Standing in busy public spaces like Times Square and on the Brooklyn Bridge, Jose holds handmade signs with messages meant to uplift the weary hearts of commuters rushing through life. He offers hugs, words of encouragement, and small gestures of kindness—tiny acts with enormous impact. Inspired by the loneliness he once felt himself, he crafts affirmations that speak directly to the souls of those struggling in silence.
Since launching in August 2022, Jose’s message has traveled far beyond New York City, reaching Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Miami. Videos of his joyful interactions and heartfelt messages have gone viral, touching thousands online. But for Jose, it’s never about fame—it’s about connection. In a world where post-pandemic isolation and mental health challenges have left many feeling unseen, he offers a balm of empathy and compassion.
Though not a trained therapist, Jose’s grassroots efforts provide a form of healing that is deeply human. He believes in the transformative power of simple kindness, living by his favorite message: “Your current situation is not your final destination.” Through his tour, he has become a living testament to the idea that one person, acting with courage and heart, can remind the world of its capacity for love.
"And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up."
