Did you hear about the restaurant on the moon?

Great food, but no atmosphere!

šŸ“ Trivia šŸ“

On December 29, 1972, NASA launched Apollo 17, the final mission of the Apollo program—and the last time humans have set foot on the Moon. Commander Eugene Cernan and Lunar Module Pilot Harrison Schmitt spent three days exploring the lunar surface, and Cernan famously left the Moon with the words, ā€œWe leave as we came, and, God willing, as we shall return, with peace and hope for all mankind.ā€ šŸŒ•šŸš€

Hearts & Humanity: Meeting People Where They Are

In Charlotte, a quiet but powerful movement is changing lives—one person at a time. Hearts For The Invisible Charlotte Coalition, founded by local resident Jessica Lefkowitz, was created with a simple but profound belief: everyone deserves to be seen, heard, and helped with dignity.

Rather than waiting for people in need to find help, Jessica and her volunteers go directly to them. They walk wooded areas, parking lots, encampments, and city streets—places often overlooked—building trust with people experiencing homelessness. They listen first. Then they act.

What makes this effort remarkable is its impact. In 2025 alone, the organization assisted more than 550 individuals, helping them access shelters, medical care, identification documents, and social services. Even more life-changing, 117 people secured permanent housing, offering stability, safety, and a chance to begin again.

Jessica’s passion for this work comes from personal experience, giving her a deep understanding of how fragile circumstances can be—and how powerful compassion can be. Her approach reminds us that real change doesn’t always start with big programs or policies. Sometimes it starts with a conversation, a warm meal, or simply treating someone like they matter.

In a world that often moves too fast, this North Carolina story is a beautiful reminder: kindness is still alive, and when people show up for one another, lives truly change.

"And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up."
— Galatians 6:9 (ESV)
