Glass Skin Goals? Meet Your Morning Upgrade
Glass skin is the fall beauty goal: a complexion that looks smooth, plump and luminous. Pique’s Carrara Marine Collagen makes supporting that glow a delicious part of your morning routine.
After 90 days on Carrara, 83% reported smoother skin, 80% reported plumper skin and 86% reported greater skin satisfaction.
Each serving combines Type I marine collagen to support skin radiance with rare Type II collagen, sourced from wild Hokkaido salmon, to support elasticity. Together, they bring skin support into a daily ritual that feels like a treat.
Two scoops blend into morning matcha for a creamy latte, making consistency easy as fall schedules fill up. A warm cup, a quiet moment and nourishment from within become part of the same routine.
For anyone pursuing that luminous glass-skin look through sweater season, Carrara adds a beauty upgrade to a habit they already love.

Three Haunted Worlds, One Unforgettable Night: Why Kersey Valley Spookywoods Is the Triad’s Ultimate Halloween Destination This Weekend
If your idea of a perfect October weekend involves polite pumpkin patches and mild-mannered hayrides, turn back now. Kersey Valley Spookywoods in Archdale (right between High Point and Greensboro) does not do “mild.” For 42 seasons—yes, since a bunch of teenagers dared each other into a 1925 farmhouse in 1985—this place has been refining the art of the full-contact nightmare across more than 85 acres of working farmland. And this weekend, October 24–25, is peak season.
Saturday runs roughly 7–11 p.m.; Sunday is a slightly gentler 7–10 p.m. Both nights are open, both are busy, and both are absolutely worth the drive from anywhere in the Triad (or beyond).
Most haunted attractions are a building you walk into and, eventually, walk out of. Spookywoods is an entire farm that swallows you. You start at Club Spooky—the lively midway with food, drinks, roaming characters, a house band (PAGEANT rocking the night), and enough atmosphere to make the wait feel like part of the show. Then you board massive custom wagons (capacity: 85 guests, pulled by John Deere tractors) that ferry you through the darkness to the next nightmare. Three wagon rides. Three distinct haunted worlds. One ticket covers everything.
It all starts in that original 1925 farmhouse. From there you move through a cursed cabin of curiosities, a dazzling 300-foot light tunnel, a fog-choked undead army under a fake electrical storm, the classic Bates-inspired “No Vacancy” motel and Norman’s Nightmare, a twisting Arch Maze, and down into the grim Widowmaker’s Shaft mine. Classic horror with modern intensity.
This one is deliberately mysterious. The attraction’s largest-ever haunted environment has a secret name and its own street address on the property. They’re not telling what’s inside—only that it was built to be experienced, not explained. Then you exit into a vast haunted cornfield where the stalks are tall enough to hide anything, and something is using that advantage.
Horror-movie catnip. Camp Crystal Lake comes to life with cabins and docks over water. There’s a lake set, a surreal dream world, a creepy garage, a meat-packing facility, ominous barns, and more. It’s the section where every slasher fan’s childhood nightmares get a full-scale, walk-through upgrade. After that, a final wagon takes you into the original pine forest for apocalyptic ruins, total-darkness mazes, a nightmare nursery of carnivorous plants, underground root horrors, and the folklore-soaked Hag’s Hollow.
More than 180 trained live actors are out there reading groups and striking in real time. Sets are built, not bought. Fog, special effects, sound design, and genuine darkness do the rest. The whole haunted journey runs about 60–90 minutes; most people spend 2–3 hours total once you factor in Club Spooky, food, and the inevitable post-scream debrief.
Club Spooky is legitimately fun. Virtual queue means you’re not stuck in a switchback line staring at a wall—you’re eating, drinking, people-watching monsters, and listening to live rock. Concessions include the usual fall favorites plus spots like Tumbleweeds Grub House and Endora’s Brew. And when you finally stagger out, you exit through Haunt Couture, one of the larger Halloween retail experiences you’ll find at any haunt—perfect for grabbing a souvenir so the nightmares can follow you home.
Practical Notes for This Weekend
Tickets: General Admission starts around $39.95–$59.95 (plus fees); VIP Fast Pass and Immediate Access options cut wait times significantly. Saturday nights can see General Admission waits of up to 3 hours—VIP or Immediate Access is the smart play if you hate standing. Buy online at spookywoods.com (or the FearTicket link) before they sell out. Group discounts available for 20+.
Parking: $10 per vehicle, cash only. Use the lot at 6948 Cecil Farm Road. Carpool if you can.
Intensity: Full-tilt scare attraction aimed at teens and adults. No strict age minimum, but parents should know their kids. Closed-toe shoes are strongly recommended. It runs rain or shine (severe weather updates on their site/socials).
Accessibility: Paved midway, accessible parking/restrooms, and wagon lifts available. Some natural terrain and tight scenes may require alternate routes—staff can help.
Pro tip: Sundays are typically less crowded. No photos, video, or livestreaming inside the attractions (they mean it).
Recently ranked the No. 2 haunted house experience in the U.S. by one national analysis (live actors + TikTok buzz + reviews), Spookywoods has also landed on USA Today and Parade “best of” lists in the past. It’s not hype—it’s 42 years of a family-run farm that decided “let’s just keep making it bigger and scarier.”
So this weekend, skip the predictable. Drive to Archdale, park, and let the wagons take you somewhere the ordinary Halloween doesn’t go. Three worlds. One night. Plenty of reasons to scream on the way home.
