North Carolina consumers should check their freezers for recalled Great Value and Green Wise organic frozen berries that may contain E. coli O145.

Walmart: The recall applies only to 10-ounce Great Value Organic Triple Berry Blend with UPC 7874211226, lot code 6040 01-6 and a “Best If Used By” date of February 9, 2028.

Publix: The recall includes all lots of Green Wise Organic Whole Blueberries and Organic Whole Mixed Berries in 10- and 48-ounce packages. These products were distributed in North Carolina and seven other states.

Federal health officials have reported 17 illnesses and six hospitalizations, with no deaths. Consumers should not eat the recalled berries. Return them to the store or throw them away, then clean any containers or freezer surfaces they touched.

Symptoms may include severe stomach cramps, diarrhea—sometimes bloody—fever, nausea and vomiting. Contact a healthcare provider if symptoms become severe or persist.

Downtown Greensboro becomes one enormous concert venue September 18–20 as the free North Carolina Folk Festival welcomes 95 artists representing 61 musical genres across 14 stages and participating venues.
