Hello friends!
Happy National Children’s Day! 🌟
Today is all about celebrating the joy, wonder, and limitless potential of the children in our lives. National Children’s Day reminds us to pause, appreciate, and nurture the young hearts around us — whether they’re our own kids, nieces and nephews, students, neighbors, or children in our community.
It’s the perfect day to do something special for the children near you: read a story together, bake a favorite treat, play a game, or simply spend quality time listening and laughing with them. Small gestures can create big memories that last a lifetime.
Let’s take a moment today to honor the curiosity, innocence, and dreams of every child — because when we lift up the kids around us, we’re shaping a brighter, kinder future for everyone. 🌈💛
See you out there in beautiful Wake,
Diane

A Mission Born of Survival
In Anderson, South Carolina, the holidays may have ended, but for community organizer Patricia Jackson the spirit of giving continues year-round. Once homeless herself, and now battling breast cancer, she and her husband use their past and present struggles as fuel for compassion. They host free meals, distribute blankets, sleeping bags, clothing and bus tickets to neighbors experiencing homelessness.
Her message is simple: “I want you to love on these people because they’re people and they just need help. They really need help.” In a time when many feel pressure and uncertainty, Patricia’s anguish has translated into steadfast kindness.
Key takeaway: When someone’s been helped, they often become the greatest helpers. The circle of compassion grows.
"And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up."
