In October 2025, a sweet and spirited dog named Udon, age 8, finally experienced the joy of a forever home—after spending more than four long years in a Michigan shelter. Over half his life had been spent watching other dogs leave for new families, while he remained behind, patiently waiting for someone to see his unique spark.

Udon is no ordinary senior dog. He is full of life, known for his playful “zoomies,” love of car rides, and delight in splashing around in kiddie pools. Volunteers at the shelter often described him as a dog who brought smiles to everyone’s day, even while waiting for his turn to be loved.
