Looking Glass Falls, located in Pisgah National Forest near Brevard, North Carolina, is one of the state’s most iconic and easily accessible waterfalls. This stunning waterfall drops about 60 feet over a smooth granite rock, which earned its name because it looks like a mirror when frozen in winter. Visitors can enjoy beautiful views of the falls right from the roadside or take a short staircase down to get closer and even wade in the water at the base. Conveniently situated just five miles north of Brevard and about 45 minutes southwest of Asheville, Looking Glass Falls is perfect for visitors of all ages since it requires no strenuous hiking. Parking is free but limited, so arriving early or on a weekday is recommended. If you plan to splash around, bringing water shoes is a good idea.
