America’s #1 Suburb to Move to in 2025

Wake Forest, has been crowned the #1 suburb in America to move to, according to MoveBuddha’s 2025 report.

After reviewing more than 160,000 real moving searches, Wake Forest claimed the top spot with an impressive 2.88:1 inbound-to-outbound ratio — meaning nearly three people are moving in for every one moving out.

Why everyone’s heading to Wake Forest:
• Booming Jobs: Access to major employers like Apple, Google, and Cisco within a 20–45 minute commute.
• Top Schools & Safety: Rated A+ for families with stellar public schools and low crime (91 violent crimes per 100K vs. national 283).
• Affordable Luxury: Median home price sits around $524K with household incomes averaging $120K — all while staying below the national cost of living.
• Lifestyle Perks: Tree-lined streets, craft breweries, local festivals, and a strong sense of community.
• Smart Growth: Up 17.7% in population since 2020 — thriving but never overcrowded.

By the numbers:
Population: 51,199 | Unemployment: 3.1% | Poverty: 3%

Downtown Wake Forest feels like something out of a storybook — charming, walkable, and full of life — but with modern jobs, safety, and space to grow.

Bottom line: Wake Forest isn’t just a great place to live — it’s the best move you’ll make.

Vulcan Elements Secures $1B+ to Re-shore Rare-Earth Magnet Production

Vulcan Elements, a 2023 startup working to bring rare-earth magnet manufacturing back to the U.S., announced it has secured more than $1 billion in public and private financing to build its first large-scale factory.

The funding includes a $620 million federal loan, $50 million in incentives from the Commerce Department’s CHIPS and Science Act program, and $550 million in private investment. The project—developed with ReElement Technologies—aims to create a fully domestic supply chain for neodymium-iron-boron (NdFeB) magnets, critical for electric vehicles, wind turbines, and defense systems.

China currently dominates global rare-earth production, making these magnets a flashpoint in U.S.–China trade and national security discussions. By producing up to 10,000 metric tons per year, Vulcan’s facility would mark a major step toward U.S. self-sufficiency in this strategic sector.

Founded by Navy veteran John Maslin and engineer Piotr Kulik, Vulcan opened a pilot plant in Durham earlier this year and has already supplied magnets for defense contracts. Its next challenge: scaling to compete on cost and volume with entrenched Chinese producers.

Because we can all use some good news.

A Slice of Kindness: Pizzeria Feeds More Than Hunger

In Columbia Heights, Minnesota, pizzeria owner Chris Kolstad noticed something that tugged at his heart: people quietly taking food from his dumpster. Rather than turn them away or look the other way, he decided to act—and simply ask them to ask.

One summer morning in 2025, Chris posted a message on social media: ā€œIf you are hungry, just ask for food. No questions asked.ā€ From that day forward, he began setting aside extra pizzas for anyone in need, quietly offering them at his back door. The act of kindness was modest, but its impact was enormous—and the story quickly went viral.

Local residents and strangers alike were inspired. Donations began pouring in, totaling over $3,000. Chris divided the contributions between giving away more pizzas directly and supporting local food banks and shelters, amplifying the effect of his simple gesture.

What makes Chris’s story truly remarkable isn’t just the food—it’s the dignity he offers. He told reporters, ā€œIf somebody’s coming in asking for a pizza, that costs us next to nothing. But the value of giving them respect and a warm meal? Priceless.ā€

Since launching the initiative, Chris estimates he has provided dozens of pizzas, but more importantly, he has offered his community a powerful reminder: compassion doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes, it starts with a warm slice, a kind word, and the simple message, ā€œYou matter.ā€

"And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up."
